GALLIPOLIS — Chandler Fulks was at her best and that was all the Fairland Lady Dragons needed to be better.

Fulks pitched a four-hitter with nine strikeouts and four walks as Fairland beat the Gallipolis Blue Angels 5-1 on Tuesday.

“Chandler pitched one of her better games,” said Fairland coach Joe Auxier.

Besides pitching, Fairland collected 15 hits with Fulks going 3-4 with a double and Chelsey Stanley 3-4. Molly Morris, Maddie Kazee and Haley Woodall each went 2-4.

Fairland (7-6) took a 3-0 lead in the third inning on singles by Kazee, Morris, Fulks, Woodall and Stanley.

Gallipolis got a run in the bottom of the innings but Fairland got the run back in the fifth on a double by Caitlin Stone and singled by Woodall, Stanley and Ellen Hinshaw.

The Lady Dragons added an insurance run in the seventh.

Fulks and Chelsey singled and Tiffani Christian walked to load the bases. Chloe Stanley followed with an RBI single.

COAL GROVE — The Symmes Valley Lady Vikings parlayed seven hits and eight Coal Grove errors to post a 16-2 win in five innings on Tuesday.

Autumn Keathley went 2-3 with a double and Hannah Maynard was 2-4 with a pair of triples as the Lady Vikings won their sixth straight.

Maynard had a three-run triple to trigger a six-run third inning. Keathley had a two-run double in the uprising.

Maynard also had a two-run triple in an eight-run fifth inning as the Lady Vikings created the mercy rule win.
