This time it was good news.

Ironton Lady Fighting Tigers’ senior shortstop Rebekkah Potter has had her share of bad news, but Tuesday she received a favorable report after an MRI on her knee.

Potter hurt her knee sliding into home during the third inning on Monday in a game against Greenup County. She did not finish the game.

Potter suffered a torn ACL twice on her right knee and has undergone two surgeries. However, physical therapist and athletic trainer David Coburn of Preferred Fitness in Ironton said the MRI report showed no ACL damage.

Coburn said Potter has a sprained MCL but no ligament damage. She will see a knee specialist to determine the exact status of the injury.

Potter — a power-hitting shortstop with a rifle arm — has already signed to play with the Division I University of Dayton.
