Township officials grateful for supporters

On behalf of my fellow Union Township Trustees Mike Curry and Rick Gue as well as Shelley Pinkerman, fiscal officer and clerk, I would like to express our appreciation for the kind words and community support exhibited at the meeting Thursday, April 25, concerning the annexation of the west end of Chesapeake.

We were humbled and honored by the outpouring of support from local residents and are optimistic that it was a clear signal that residents are more than content with the current township boundaries.

We would also like to remind those in attendance that the matter of annexation has not yet been solved.

We encourage those individuals to speak with friends and neighbors and convey to them that services provided by the township are more beneficial than those the village could provide given the annexation would become a reality.

We ask all residents of the west end of Chesapeake to not sign the petition for annexation.

Lastly, we would like to express that we have always had the best interest of Union Township at heart and we would always welcome and encourage any future economic growth in the township.
