Fruth Pharmacy’s Craig Kimble inducted to OPA Board of Trustees

COLUMBUS — Craig Kimble, Director of pharmacy and clinical services for Fruth Pharmacy was inducted to the Ohio Pharmacists Association Board of Trustees on April 13.

As a trustee, Kimble will be serving District 7. District 7 includes Adams, Brown, Fayette, Gallia, Highland, Hocking, Jackson, Lawrence, Pickaway, Pike, Ross, Scioto, and Vinton counties.

Kimble holds a doctor of pharmacy degree from Ohio Northern University, an MBA from Morehead State University, and a master’s degree from Marshall University. Kimble previously held positions of director of pharmacy at Holzer Health Systems and Senior pharmacist consultant for McKesson before joining Fruth Pharmacy.

The Ohio Pharmacists Association promotes inter-professional relations while promoting public health through education, discussion and legislation.

The purpose of the association is to elevate the character of the pharmaceutical profession, by uniting reputable druggists of the state in order to foster the education of those learning the art and thereby stimulate the talent of those engaged in pharmacy.

 

Huntington Area Chapter of AARP to meet Monday

HUNTINGTON, W.Va. — The Huntington Area Chapter of the AARP will present a program entitled “Safety in Your Home and Community” at its meeting Monday night.

Huntington Police Chief Skip Holbrook, Huntington Fire Chief Carl Eastham and Cabell County Sheriff Tom McComas are scheduled to speak at the meeting, which will begin at 6 p.m. at the St. Mary’s Conference Center, 2825 Fifth Ave.

The Huntington area chapter, one of the largest in the state, is sponsored by St. Mary’s Medical Center. The group meets the second Monday of each month.

 

BCPL Friends meeting today

CANNONSBURG, Ky. —The annual meeting of Boyd County Public Library Friends will be today at the Kyova Branch.

The membership meeting starts at 7 p.m. The branch is located in the Kyova Mall, across from Elder-Beerman.

Agenda items include: bylaws and constitution; 501(c)(3) status (non-profit); used book sale; and library funding requests.

BCPL Friends is currently trying to recruit new members. Anyone interested in joining the group, which supports library programs and services by volunteering and raising funds, is welcome to attend the meeting and find out more. An individual membership costs only $10 for the year.

High school concert set

The combined Huntington High and Cabell Midland orchestras will perform their annual spring concert on Tuesday at 7 p.m. in the Cabell Midland High School auditorium. The doors open at 6:30 p.m. and is free and open to the public.

The Tri-State Youth Orchestra will present its annual Spring concert on Saturday, May 18 at 8 p.m. in the ARTS Renaissance Auditorium. The admission is $5, children 12 and under free.

 

Wayne National Forest implements new regulations

NELSONVILLE — Anne Carey, Forest Supervisor for the Wayne National Forest in southeastern Ohio has signed several forest prohibitions to provide for an increase in the protection of natural resources within the Wayne National Forest and provide for an increase in the protection of the visiting public.

The new forest prohibitions regulate a number of activities including but not limited to campfires, off-highway vehicle operation, camping, hunting, boating, and various other activities.
