George Laber

George Laber, 77, of Pedro, passed away Sunday night at Our Lady of Bellefonte Hospital in Ashland with his wife and family at his side.

He was born Aug. 31, 1935, a son of the late Georgia Bailey Laber and the late Charles Laber. He was a retired welder of ACF Industries of Huntington, W.Va., a loving dad and of the Catholic Faith.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a grandchild, Shawnda Laber; a brother, Joe Laber; and a sister, Lillian Madden.

He leaves to mourn his passing his wife Mary at home; four sons, Danny (Patti) Laber, George (Chris) Laber, Shawn (Nova) Laber, Adam Laber; a daughter, Angela Laber, all of the Ironton; three brothers, Wilbur Laber of Anna, Carl Laber of Ashland, Joe Laber of Pedro; six grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; special friends; and a host of family and friends.

Funeral mass will be conducted at noon on Friday at St. Marys Catholic Church in Rock Hill with Father Huffman officiating. Burial will follow in the Pine Grove Cemetery.

Friends may call from 6 to 9 p.m. Thursday where a prayer service will begin at 8:30 p.m. at the Brown Funeral Chapel. Flowers maybe sent or memorial donations in George’s honor can be made to the church or St. Joseph School at P.O. Box 499; Ironton, OH 45638. Friends may share memories and condolences with the family on the Facebook page for Brown Funeral Chapel. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Brown Funeral Chapel.

 

 

Sara Bentley

Sara Bentley, 23, of Texas, passed away Friday, April 30, 2013, in Tacoma, Wash., in a car accident. She was born March 4, 1990. She was a student at the University of Washington, six months from her accounting degree. She was married to Spc. E4 David Bentley, U.S. Army, stationed at Fort Lewis, Wash. Her surviving family in Ironton are great aunts, Joan Blankenship Lambert and Gay Blankenship Gilmore; and grandfather, Charles Bonzo. Her Texas family are mother, Deanna Bonzo Sterling; grandparents, Carol Blankenship Cook and Robert Cook; aunt and uncle, Stephanie and Adam Adams; and sisters, Ana, Misha and Jessica. She was will be laid to rest in Dallas-Fort Worth, Texas National Cemetery.

 

 

Janice Dement

Janice Sharon Dement, 66, of Huntington, W.Va., died Sunday, May 12, 2013, at home. Funeral service will be conducted 11 a.m. Wednesday at Hall Funeral Home, Proctorville, by Pastor Mike Dement. Burial will follow in Miller Memorial Gardens, Miller. Visitation will be held 6 to 8 p.m. today at Hall Funeral Home. Condolences may be expressed to the family at www.timeformemory.com/hall.

 

 

Arty Williamson

Arty Gene Williamson, 74, of Proctorville, died Monday, May 13, 2013, at St. Mary’s Medical Center. He was the husband of Dortha Williamson, who survives. Arrangements are pending at Hall Funeral Home.

 

 

Thomas Black

Thomas Black, 64, of Ironton, died Sunday, May 12, 2013, at Cabell Huntington Hospital. Arrangements are pending at Slack and Wallace Funeral Home, South Point.
