Marjorie Collins

May 31, 1924-March 9, 2002

Marjorie L. Collins, 77, of Ironton died Saturday at West Houston Medical Center in Houston, Texas.She was born May 31, 1924, the daughter of the late Ernest and Rosie Crum Reaper.She was the wife of the late Golden Collins. She was a homemaker. She also was preceded in death by four brothers; and two sisters. Survivors include three sons, Lawrence Collins of Houston and Larry Collins and Roger Collins, both of Ironton; four daughters, Mary Roberts of Springfield, Paula Howard of Franklin Furnace, Sheila Adams of Ironton and Shellie Biglar of Flint, Texas; four sisters, Mary Malone of Ironton, Sue Knipp of Pedro, Jo Ann Percell of Port Clinton and Carolyn Stevens of Webbville, Ky.; 19 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. Funeral was 11 a.m. today at O’Keefe-Baker Funeral Home, with Bill Jones officiating. Burial was in Woodland Cemetery.

Nellie Vencill

Jan. 9, 1921-March 12, 2002

Nellie Mae Vencill, 81, of Ironton died Tuesday at King’s Daughters Medical Center in Ashland, Ky.The Lawrence County native was born Jan. 9, 1921, the daughter of the late Joseph I. and Florence Wilds Washburn. She was the wife of Ford "Pete" Vencill, who survives. She was a homemaker and attended First Church of the Nazarene and Pedro schools. She also was preceded in death by one son, William Richard Vencill; three brothers, Fred, Charles and Calvin Washburn; and two sisters, Eloise Ratliff and Helen Vencill. Survivors include two sons, Daniel Ralph Vencill of Ashland and Joseph Edward Vencill of Ironton; two daughters, Betty Ann Vencill of Ironton and Rebecca Lee Lyons of Haverhill; two grandchildren; and two brothers, Joseph Washburn and William Washburn, both of Ironton. Graveside service will be 1 p.m. Thursday at Woodland Cemetery, with the Rev. Kenny Estep officiating. Visitation will be noon to 1 p.m. Thursday at Phillips Funeral Home.- OBITUARIES ARE PAID MATERIAL

FRANKLIN FURNACE – Euxine Albert, 82, of Franklin Furnace died Tuesday at King’s Daughters Medical Center in Ashland, Ky. Arrangements are pending at Phillips Funeral Home.
