The possibility of the Ohio-Marshall game moving up a day to the Friday after Thanksgiving and being televised by Fox Sports Pittsburgh may become a reality.

And if you want to know if the rumor is true, just go to the men who would know: the head coach.

Ohio’s head coach Jim Grobe and Marshall’s head coach Bob Pruett will be in the neighborhood on Thursday and Friday as they meet fans totalk about the upcoming season.

Grobe will be the guest speaker as the seventh annual Ohio University Southern Campus Kickoff Classic to be held from 6-8 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 5, on the school’s campus.

Free food and refreshments will be available and Grobe will talk about the season, new recruits such as former Ironton wide receiver James Taylor, and answer questions.

The Ohio University marching band is scheduled to appear and there will be several prizes award including a scholarship for some

one to attend OUSC, two tickets to the Ohio-Marshall game, and two tickets to the Ohio vs. Ohio State game.

Event host will be Kerry Kinsey, sportscaster for WOWK-TV 13.

The event is open to the public, especially high school football teams, cheerleaders, and coaching staffs.

Pruett will make a stop between 5-7 p.m. at the Ashland, Ky., Towne Center Mall.

Fans can talk Herd football, get; autorgraphs, take photos, and order season tickets.

"We are constantly searching for ways to thank our fans and to increase the number of Herd fans," said Pruett. "The ticket caravan helps us to do both."

The stop in Ashland is the eighth in an 11-city tour.

Pruett will be at the Barboursville Mall from 2-4 p.m. Aug. 15, the Select A Seat/Fan Fair Aug. 21 at Marshall Stadium, and at City National Bank from 4-6 p.m. on Sept. 7.
