Gregory Bills

Gregory Allen Bills, 47, of Chesapeake, owner/operator of GGB Construction, passed from this life to his heavenly home in a peaceful manner on Tuesday, Aug. 27, 2013, at St. Mary’s Medical Center, Huntington, W.Va. He was born Dec. 20, 1965, in Huntington.

Greg is survived by his loving and devoted wife, Tammy Lynn Hutchinson Bills, of Chesapeake; his loving parents, Garland L. Bills and Janice M. Bills of Chesapeake; two brothers, Buddy (Debbie) Bills of Proctorville, and Gary (Teresa) Bills of Milton, W.Va; one nephew, Todd Michael Bills of Davenport, Fla.; two brothers-in-law and two sisters-in-law, Raymond (Gloria) Pennington and Randy (Linda) Henderson; a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, family, friends, and many devoted employees of GGB Construction and business associates.

Greg was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Arthur and Alice Mae Clark; and his paternal grandparents, John and Clida Bills.

Greg was a devoted Christian and member of Big Branch Church, Chesapeake. He was an avid lover of life! He enjoyed participating in mud racing and was happy in his “Big Yellow Truck.” Greg was an accomplished sportsman and he enjoyed hunting, fishing and spending time with friends and family. Greg will be missed by all those whose lives he touched. The family would like to thank St. Mary’s Medical Center, and the EMS for everything they did during this trying time.

Funeral service will be conducted 11 a.m. Friday at Hall Funeral Home, Proctorville, by Pastor Randy Henderson, Pastor Michael Wright and Pastor John Fry. Rosemary Case

Rosemary (Nance) Case, 90, of Ironton, passed away Tuesday, Aug. 27, 2013, at Community Hospice, Ashland, Ky. She was born Jan. 11, 1923, in Coal Grove, the daughter of the late Jesse and Dottie (Beals) Nance. She was also preceded in death by her husband, John W. Case, who passed away in May of 1996.

Rosemary was a 1940 graduate of Dawson-Bryant High School and was a homemaker. She was a member of Zoar Baptist Church.

Rosemary is survived by two sons, Terry (Babs) Case of Barboursville, W.Va. and Tim (Judy) Case of Okeana; one grandson, Scott (Deanna) Case of Coal Grove; one granddaughter, Kelli (Kevin) Hacker of Ironton; one sister-in-law, Margaret Nance of Ironton; five great grandchildren, Adam Bryant of Coal Grove, Caylyn Case of Coal Grove, Jordan Case of Coal Grove, Trevor Hacker of Ironton and Trent Hacker of Ironton; and two step grandchildren, Ray (Stephanie) Ogg of Okeana and Tracy Lightfield of Villa Hills, Ky.

In addition to her parents and husband she is also preceded in death by one son, Tom Case; and three brothers, Bill Nance, Bob Nance and Bud Nance.

Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at the Tracy Brammer-Monroe Funeral Home with Rev. Jim Beals officiating. Graveside service will follow at Woodland Cemetery, Ironton. Visitation will be 10 a.m. until the time of the service on Saturday at the funeral home.

Elsie Hamlin

Elsie Lee Hamlin, 82, of South Point, went home to be with the Lord, Tuesday, Aug. 27, 2013, in River’s Bend Health Care. Funeral services will be noon on Friday at Schneider-Griffin Funeral Home, with Pastor Chris Day officiating. Burial will follow in Rome Cemetery, Proctorville. Lottie Spong

Lottie Sophie Grabczynski Spong, 94 of Ona, W.Va., died Sunday, Aug. 25, 2013, at Rose Terrace Nursing & Rehabilitation Center, Culloden, W.Va. Family graveside services will be in Mansion Memorial Park Cemetery, Ellenton, Fla. Slack and Wallace Funeral Home, South Point, is assisting the family with arrangements.

 

 

Opal Capper

Opal Fay Capper, 90, of Proctorville, died Wednesday, Aug. 21, 2013, at Midland Meadows Senior Living, Ona, W.Va. Funeral will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at Hall Funeral Home. Mary L. Hogsten, 57, of Huntington, W.Va., died Wednesday, Aug. 28, 2013, at the Huntington Hospice Care Center. Arrangements are pending at Phillips Funeral Home.
