STANFORD, Ky. — Mescal “Mick” Alvin Daniels II, 44, of Stanford, formerly of Lawrence County, Ohio, died Monday, June 21, 2010, at his residence. The Ironton native was born April 25, 1966, the son of Carolyn Dale Plowman Riffe of Ironton and the late Mescal A. Daniels, who passed away April 30, 2009.
Mick was a 1985 graduate of Rock Hill High School and was a musician who formerly played guitar for the band, Oney, New Life Quartet and several others.
In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by a sister, Chris Daniels; and maternal grandmother, Drucilla Plowman.
In addition to his mother, he is survived by a son, Marcus Daniels of Ironton; daughter, Melody Daniels of Ironton; three brothers, Mel Daniels, Mark Daniels, and Everett Riffe, all of Ironton; a sister, Deborah Riffe Carmon of Ironton; and stepfather, Sonny Riffe of Ironton.
Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Friday at Macedonia Missionary Baptist Church with Rev. Kenny Klaiber officiating. Burial will follow in Macedonia Cemetery. Friends may call Friday from noon until the time of the service at the church. Phillips Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
