YPSILANITI, Mich. (AP) — Tyler Tettleton threw for 375 yards and four touchdowns, two in a 21-point burst in the final 5 minutes of the third quarter, as Ohio pulled away for a 56-28 win over Eastern Michigan in an emotionally charged game on Saturday.

Eastern Michigan, a day after starting receiver Demarius Reed was found shot to death, gave the heavily-favored Bobcats (5-2, 2-1 Mid-American Conference) fits behind Bronson Hill, who ran for 257 yards and a touchdown.

After the Eagles (1-6, 0-3) tied the game at 21, they were driving for the go-ahead score when Devin Bass picked off Tyler Benz in the end zone. On the next play Tettleton connected with Chase Cochran for an 80-yard touchdown. Tettleton finished three yards short of becoming the first Ohio quarterback with 8,000 passing yards.
