William R. Carter, 80, of Ironton, passed away Thursday, May 20, 2010, at Our Lady of Bellefonte Hospital.
He was born Jan. 10, 1930, in Ironton, the son of the late William and Hazel Brickey Carter.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by one son, William (Chico) Carter; two brothers, McKinley and Jessie Carter and one sister, Margaret Ann Carter.
He is survived by his wife, Mildred Carter; two sons: Robert Carter of Ironton and Darrel Carter, of Ironton; two daughters, Dawn Campbell of South Point and Darlene Carter of Ironton; 16 grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.
A memorial service will be 1 p.m. Wednesday at the Triedstone Baptist Church. Arrangements are under the direction of Tracy Brammer Funeral Home.
