Charles B. Sprouse, 71, of Ironton, died Saturday, May 8, 2010, at home.
Charles was born July 28, 1938, in Catlettsburg, Ky., a son of the late Charles C. and Edna Ellen Porter Sprouse.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Bill Waters and Harold Lindhout; and one granddaughter, Brittany Nichole Cline.
He graduated from South Point High School. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army and a member of the Masonic Lodge No. 198. He retired from AK Steel in 2001 after 36 years of service as a millwright.
Charles is survived by his loving wife, Nancy Kite Sprouse whom he married Feb. 10, 1959 in South Point; one son, Randy (Rhonda) Sprouse; one daughter, Melissa Sprouse; three grandsons, Nick, and Dustin Sprouse and Cody Evans; two granddaughters, Brandy Sprouse and Jessica Minard; one great grandson, Zack Minard; two sisters, Melissa Marie Conley of Nor-Cross, GA and Charlott June Sweeney of Ashland, Ky.; and sister-in-law Gwen Lindhoust of Michigan.
Funeral services will be noon Thursday, May 13, 2010 with Pastors Brian Mallott and Larry Lavender officiating. Burial will follow at Highland Memorial Gardens, South Point.
