Oliver F. Coonrod, 81, of Ironton, died Tuesday, May 4, 2010, at Our Lady of Bellefonte Hospital.
He was born Sept. 4, 1928, in Lawrence County, the son of the late George F Coonrod and Wilma Brown Coonrod.
He was a veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps and the U.S. Army. He was retired from Meehan Steel.
He is survived by his wife, Faye E.Coonrod; a brother, Michael Coonrod of Flatwoods, Ky.; and three sisters, Ruth Coyer of Pedro, Thelma Sheridan Daytona Beach, Fla., and Alma Killin of Port Orange, Fla.
Funeral will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at O’Keefe Baker Funeral Home with the Rev. Wayne Young officiating. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery. VFW Post 8850 will perform military graveside rites. Friends may call from 10 a.m. Thursday until time of service at the funeral home.
