Arthur Coffman

Arthur Ray Coffman, 72, of Ironton, went to be with the Lord on Monday, Nov. 11, 2013. The Lawrence County native was born March 4, 1941, to the late Luther A. Coffman and Russie C. Davis Coffman, who survives. He married his best friend on Nov. 7, 1959, Sandra Sue Myers Coffman, who survives.

Art was an active member of First Tabernacle Church and was a 1959 graduate of Waterloo High School. He was employed by the Dayton Malleable/Amcast and Liebert Corporation, where he retired from in 2011. He was a great husband, father, papaw, brother and friend to all who knew him. His favorite pastimes were spending time with his family and being involved with his grandchildren’s activities. He loved watching Flyers basketball.

In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by a sister, Patricia G. Wade, and a brother, Donald L. Coffman.

In addition to his wife and mother, Art is survived by his two girls, Carolyn S. Coffman and Sheila R. Coffman Scott; a son-in-law, David A. Scott; and two grandchildren he cherished, Jamie M. Scott, of Columbus, and Troy David Scott. He is also survived by his two sisters, Lillian C. Brown, of South Point, and Juanita and John Paholsky; brothers-in-law, Jack T. Wade and Donnie and Kay Myers; sisters-in-law Thelma Brown and RuthAnna and Nelson Payton; and several cousins, nieces and nephews.

Art was an influence to all who knew him and he will be greatly missed by all.

Funeral service will be 1 p.m. Wednesday at Phillips Funeral Home in Ironton with the Rev. Danny Pancake officiating. Burial will follow in Woodland Cemetery. Michael Ashworth

Michael Jay Ashworth, 55, of Clearwater, Fla., formerly of Ironton, passed away Friday, Nov. 8, 2013. Michael was born July 29, 1958, to the late Harvey Eugene and Edna Carol Webb Ashworth and a grandson of the late Curtis and Early Webb and William and Orpha Ashworth. He is survived by his wife, Lynn Ashworth, of Clearwater, Fla.

In addition to his wife, Mike is survived by a daughter, Misty and Dale Jackson, of Colorado; sister Carol Jean Ashworth, of Ironton; nephew Brandon Prichard, of Ironton; two grandchildren, Colson and Gracie Bacon, of Colorado; uncle Tom Webb, of Ironton; aunts Mary J. Dixon, of Tampa, Fla., and Karen Delaney, of Lexington; brother-in-law David Kidd, of Ironton; sister-in-law Alice Muzaurieta, of Ironton; and multiple nieces, nephews and cousins. He was loved by all and he will be sadly missed.

Michael was a member of New Valley Baptist Church and was a graduate of Coal Grove High School. Mike was owner/operator of J&L Trailer Transporting.

Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Thursday at Phillips Funeral Home in Ironton with Pastor Brian Taylor officiating. Burial will follow in Melvin Cemetery and visitation will be from 11 a.m. until the time of the service on Thursday at the funeral home. Pallbearers will be Brandon Prichard, Colson Bacon, Donald Ashworth, Ronald Ashworth, Todd Ashworth and T.J. Ashley. Marcella Fuller

Marcella Fuller, 83, of Portsmouth, died Monday at Hillview Retirement Center in Portsmouth. Arrangements are pending at Phillips Funeral Home.
