People strutting down the catwalk on Saturday will not oånly be clad in the latest fashion trends, but will also raise money for a cause that has consumed the entire county.

Symmes Valley freshman Ashley Dennison is battling cancer and a fashion show on Saturday at Rock Hill High School’s cafetorium is part of an ongoing series of fundraisers to aid her family with the cost of her treatment.

The event is sponsored by the Rock Hill National Honor Society and is a community service project for Rock Hill cheerleader, track team member and an honor society member Allison Sites.

“We are renting tables for people or businesses to sell their crafts and products,” Kim Zornes, senior English teacher and honor society adviser at Rock Hill High School, said. “Every cheerleading squad in Lawrence County will have a team member modeling in the show. We are anticipating a great turnout.”

Zornes extended her thanks to Lawrence County cheerleaders Kaitlin Thompson (St. Joe), Keirann Summers (Ironton), Elly Fulks (Symmes Valley), Alyssa Freeman (Chesapeake), Allison Blackburn (Chesapeake), Becca Keeney (Fairland), Enny Fulks (Fairland), Alex Carter (Dawson-Bryant) and the entire Rock Hill cheerleading squad for volunteering to model.

“This is completely Allison’s project,” Zornes said. “She did everything from the beginning to the end.”

Stylists from A New You Salon and Spa have volunteered to do the models’ hair before the show.

Fourteen vendors have committed to be at the event and the cost for a table is $25. Admission is $3 and $1 for students. Questions can be directed to Zornes by email at kzornes@rockhill.org.
