PEDRO— Edna Irene Russell, 82, of Pedro, died Friday, April 23, 2010, at a local health care center.
The Lawrence County native was born April 23, 1928, the daughter of the late John and Icey Dora Colegrove Cole.
She was also preceded in death by her husband, Elmer Thomas Russell, who passed away in 1991.
She attended Waterloo School, was a homemaker and of the Baptist faith.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was also preceded in death by a son, Michael Lee Russell; five brothers, Sheraton Cole, William Cole, Richard Cole, Lesley Cole, and Clifford Cole; three sisters, Mary McWharter, Dorothy Cole Pruitt, and Ruby Rogers; a daughter-in-law, Sherry Russell and a grand daughter, Tiffany Russell.
She is survived by three sons and daughters-in-law, David Lee and Diane Russell of Pedro, Elmer Clifford and Debbie Russell and Danny Ray Russell all of Marion; a companion, Charles Ervin of Ironton; 11 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Tuesday at Phillips Funeral Home, with the Rev. Kenny Jiles officiating. Burial will follow in Macedonia Cemetery. Friends may call 6-9 p.m. Monday at the funeral home. To offer condolences to the family, please visit www.phillipsfuneralhome.net.
