Steven Crager

Steven G. Crager, 58, of Ironton, passed away Sunday, Nov. 17, 2013, at King’s Daughters Medical Center in Ashland, Ky. The Lawrence County native was born March 7, 1955, a son of the late Garth and Wanda Faye Rogers Crager.

Mr. Crager was an Ironton High School graduate and a former printer and co-owner/operator of Crabro Ink Solutions for 17 years. He was a member of the Graphic Communications Conference/IBT, Local 508-M of District Council 3, the Knights of Columbus and past officer of the Moose Lodge. He was an Ironton Tiger Football fan, where he played in school and never missed a game. He was also a Notre Dame football fan and Redskins football fan.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by maternal grandmother, Asenith Townsend Rogers; paternal grandfather, William “Bill” Rogers; paternal grandmother, Kate Crager; paternal grandfather, Jim Crager; and sister-in-law, Karen Harrison.

He is survived by a son, Eric and Amanda Crager, of Ironton; brothers Bob and Vickie Crager and Dave Harrison, all of Ironton; fianceé Beverly Pierce Morris, of Ironton; stepdaughter Kelly Preston, of Ironton; stepdaughter Sara Waggoner, of Lexington, Ky.; stepdaughter Jessica Waggoner and her children, of Ashland, Ky.; and seven grandchildren, Ethan, Lexi, Steven, Nathanial and Anna Preston, all of Ironton; Wren Cragle and Owlsley Wells, both of Ashland, Ky.

Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Wednesday at Phillips Funeral Home with Pastor Jared Hineman officiating. Burial will follow in Woodland Cemetery and visitation will be 11 a.m. until time of service on Wednesday. Pallbearers will be Eric Crager, Bob Crager, Dave Harrison, Don Battise, Mike Hasenauer, Harry Bailey and Larry Taylor. Myrna Long

Myrna Leigh (Davis) Long, 75, of Ironton, passed away Saturday, Nov. 16, 2013, at St. Mary’s Medical Center in Ironton. The Lawrence County native was born July 7, 1938, the daughter of the late Orville and Ethel Barton Davis. She is survived by her husband of 41 years, Charles Long.

Myrna was a 1956 graduate of Ironton High School. She retired from Ohio Bell Telephone Company as a telephone operator. She loved her flower garden, bowling, being on the computer with her friends and family, and her dog, Sadie. She was of the Christian faith. She will be sadly missed by all who knew her generosity.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by a brother, Orville (Sonny) Davis Jr.

In addition to her husband she is also survived by foster son, James McDowell; three brothers, George (Marilyn) Long, of Clarkston, Mich., Carl (Barbara) Davis, of Vero Beach, Fla., and Steve Long; three sisters, Sally (Jim) Wisenberger, Patsey Dickerson and Carol (Tony) Moran, all of Ironton; aunt Violet Imes, of Sciotoville; and several nieces and nephews.

Seth Jones

Seth Jones, 23, of Ashland, Ky., died Wednesday. Nov. 13, 2013, at his home. He was the son of Carl and Janet Jones, of South Point. There will be no services. Hall Funeral Home in Proctorville is in charge of arrangements. Condolences may be expressed online at www.timeformemory.com/hall.

 

Clara Chatfield

Clara Chatfield, 64, of Ironton, formerly of Wurtland, Ky., died Monday, Nov. 18, 2013, at King’s Daughters Medical Center in Ashland, Ky. Visitation for family will be 11 a.m. Thursday with funeral services at 1 p.m. at Evans Funeral Home in Raceland, Ky. Burial will follow in the Melvin Cemetery in Wurtland, Ky.
