Ronald L. Stone, 75, of Ironton passed away April 18, 2010, at the Veterans Medical Center in Cleveland.
Ronnie was born Oct. 31, 1934, in Ironton, the son of the late Andrew and Evelyn Rowe Stone.
He graduated from Ironton High School with the class of 1953 and served two years with the U.S. Army. He retired from the National City Bank and was very active in the First Baptist Church, serving in many capacities over the years. He enjoyed coaching Little League for 11 years, and was an avid sports fan, especially, following the Ironton Tigers and the Cincinnati Reds.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Yvonne Darst.
He is survived by his loving wife, Janet Strong Stone, whom he married in 1957; one daughter and son-in-law, Rhonda and Stephen Parry of Franklin, Tenn.; and one son, Andrew of Pataskala.
Funeral service will be noon on Thursday at the Tracy Brammer Funeral Home in Ironton with Pastor Dennis Strawn officiating. Interment will follow at Woodland Cemetery. A visitation will be 10 a.m. – noon prior to the service Thursday at the funeral home. Pallbearers will be Rod Depriest, Joe Rowe, Jerry Greenwood, Andy Stone, Gary Holschuh, and Charlie Cook. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the First Baptist Church Faith and Fitness Center, 304 South Fifth St, Ironton, OH 45638, the Gideon’s, or Samaritan’s Purse.
