Charles Spencer 70, of Ironton, passed away Saturday, April 10, 2010, at King’s Daughters Medical Center in Ashland, Ky. The Ironton native was born July 5, 1939, the son of the late Richard Stewart and Melvina Russell.
Mr. Spencer was a graduate of Ironton City Schools, a veteran of the United States Air Force during the Vietnam Era, and was a retired Assistant Tar Operator at Allied Chemical. He was a member of the New Life Victory Church in Huntington, W.Va., a member of American Legion Post #590, IBPOEW #142 and VFW Post #8850.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by a daughter, Rolanda Spencer; a son, Gary Lee Spencer; two sisters, Pauline Clark and Judy Nichols; and two brothers, Harry Spencer and Gary Spencer.
He is survived by his wife, Donna Gail Lewis Spencer; three sons and a daughter-in-law, Dale Spencer of South Point,  Charles Spencer Jr. and Mary and Jerry Spencer, all of Ironton; two daughters, Angela Spencer and Tarsha Lewis, both of Ironton; and three stepdaughters, Charlotte Lewis of South Point, Crystal Lewis of Ashland, Ky. and Frances Lewis of Ironton; and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be 12:00 p.m. Wednesday, at Phillips Funeral Home with Rev. Richard Carter officiating.
