Leora Sue Jenkins, 64, of Ironton, died Sunday, Feb. 14, 2010, at King’s Daughters Medical Center in Ashland, Ky.
The Lawrence County native was born Nov. 5, 1945, the daughter of the late Leroy and Marie Davis Rodgers. She is survived by her husband, Gary Lewis Jenkins, whom she married May 10, 1965.
She was a graduate of Ironton High School. She was a homemaker and was of the Baptist faith.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by three sisters, Doris Broughten, Melva Riggle and Sharon Easterling; three brothers, John Rodgers, Orville Rodgers, and Thomas Riggle and a grandson, Shane Jones.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Gary and Kiplyn Jenkins of Kitts Hill; three daughters and sons-in-law, Patty and Shawn Jones of Ironton, Dee Dee and Rusty Delong of Pedro and Angel Jenkins and Lester Shultz of Coal Grove; five granddaughters; a sister and brother-in-law, Sandy and Raymond Sharp of Milton, W.Va.; two brothers and a sister-in-law, Bill and Mable Rodgers and Leslie Rodgers, all of Omaha, Neb.
Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Thursday at Phillips Funeral Home with Pastors Joe and Jeff Miller officiating. Burial will follow in Woodland Cemetery.
