COAL GROVE — Adam “Bud” Hunley, 80, of Coal Grove, passed away Wednesday, Feb. 10, 2010, at King’s Daughters Medical Center in Ashland, Ky.
The Lawrence County native was born Aug.12, 1929, the son of the late Ernest and Effie Mae Sealy Hunley. He is survived by his wife, Ernestine Arthur Hunley, whom he married July 15, 1950.
Mr. Hunley attended Coal Grove schools and was a former construction worker with Carlyle Tile. He was of the Baptist faith and attended the Church of God.
In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by three sisters, Anna Mae Holtzapfel, Lucy Pierce, and Violet Holland and three brothers, Carl Hunley, Raymond Hunley, and Frank Hunley.
In addition to his wife, he is also survived by three daughters and two sons-in-law, Mary Alice and Rodney Hitchcock and Carolyn Hunley all of Coal Grove and Janice and Donald Leibee of Ironton; a sister, Hattie Bryant of Coal Grove; two grandchildren, Jesse Hitchcock and Elizabeth Leibee and a special nephew, Larry and Patty Workman and their daughter, Heather.
Graveside service will be 2 p.m. Saturday in Woodland Cemetery with the Rev. Norman Carrico officiating. Friends may call from 1-2 p.m. Saturday at Phillips Funeral Home. To offer condolences to the family, please visit www.phillipsfuneralhome.net.
