Russell tops Lady Panthers

FLATWOODS, Ky. — The Russell Lady Red Devils used a strong second half to rally past the Chesapeake Lady Panthers 71-55 Monday.

Chesapeake trailed 9-8 after the first quarter but took a 29-28 lead at the half.

Russell came back in the third quarter to go ahead 49-45 and then outscored the Lady Panthers 22-10 in the fourth quarter.

Sydnee Hall had a game-high 21 points for Chesapeake (5-4). Jordan Porter had 16 points.

Madison Darnell had 16 points and Hannah Carter 15 to lead Russell (10-3). Lexi Berry added 12 points and Maggie Jachimczuk had 10 points and 12 rebounds.
