WHEELERSBURG — Pauline Spears Bowling, 95, of Wheelersburg, died Sunday, Jan. 31, 2010, at Hillview Retirement Center, Portsmouth.
She was born Jan. 15, 1915, in Catlettsburg, Ky., a daughter of the late John Wesley and Mary Alice Mitchell Spears.
She was a retired telephone operator, a Jehovah’s Witness, a member of the Pedro Garden Club, the Elizabeth Township Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary and the Lawrence Furnace Homemakers.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Jesse Bowling who died in 2006; a brother, Mitchell Spears; and four sisters, Mildred Spears, Dorothy Spurlock, Evelyn Spurlock and Jessie Regens.
Funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Steen Funeral Home-13th Street Chapel with the brethren of Wheelersburg Kingdom Hall officiating. Friends may call from 6-8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
