COAL GROVE — Archie Zornes, 77, of Coal Grove, passed away Friday, Jan. 22, 2010, at a local health care center.
The Coal Grove native was born Sept. 21, 1932, the son of the late Troy Sr. and Martha Webb Zornes.
Mr. Zornes was a 1951 graduate of Dawson Bryant High School. He was a U.S. Navy Korean War veteran. He retired in 1982 from Allied Chemical in South Point after 31 years as a field machinist and was a member of the V.F.W. Post 8850. He lived most of his life in Coal Grove.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Troy Zornes, Jr., and a sister, Alberta Harmon.
He is survived by a sister and brother-in-law, Dorothy and Tip Harmon of Coal Grove; a stepdaughter, Kimberly Ann Matney Bonnette of Ashland, Ky.; a niece, Jackie Zornes and three nephews, Troy Zornes, Stephen Zornes, and Gary Moore.
