SOUTH POINT — Raymond Barham Christian, 83, of South Point, Ohio, passed away Sunday, Dec. 20, 2009, at a local health care center. The Philadelphia, Pa. native was born July 30, 1926, the son of the late Raymond Barham Christian Sr. and Edna Christian.
Mr. Christian attended Blue Ridge Schools in Richmond, Va. and was a U.S. Navy Veteran, serving during WWII. He was a former car repairman for the C & O Railroad, retiring in 1987 after 39 1/2 years of service.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Raymond Barham Christian; and a daughter, Teresa Marie Cummins.
He is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Gloria and Jerry Twaddle of Wakeman; special longtime friend, Mary Sellards of Huntington, W.Va.; friends, Melba and Glenn Bjornson of Villa Hills, Ky., Rose Mary Sellards of Chesapeake, and Damon Sellards of Huntington, W.Va.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday at Phillips Funeral Home,with the Rev. Jimm Smedley officiating. Burial will follow in Aid Cemetery.
