COAL GROVE — Mrs. Wilma Fae Wineka, 93, of Coal Grove, passed away Wednesday, Dec. 9, 2009, at Cornerstone Hospital in Huntington, W.Va.
She was born May 9, 1916, in Lawrence County, a daughter of the late Lawrence and Mabel Bruce Bryant. She was retired from Dalbry Health Center, JJ Newberry Company and was a former employee of Citizens Bank. She was a member of Zoar Baptist Church where she was a former clerk, Sunday School teacher and choir director.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Russell Wineka Sr.; two sisters, Eileen Dalton and Lillian “Sis” Henry and a brother, Lawrence “Larry” Bryant.
She is survived by a daughter, Vicki Freka of Coal Grove; a son and daughter-in-law, Russ Jr. and Sandy Wineka of Liberty, Ind.; a granddaughter, Rebecca Townsend; five step grandchildren, Mary Paige Zeke, Christine Hilbert, and Charles Jones, all of Hamilton, Yale Jones of Mexico and Pam Doza of Plain City; 10 great grandchildren, including a special great grandson, Adam Townsend; and a brother and sister-in-law, William “Bub” and Genevive Bryant of Coal Grove; two special nieces, JoLInda Heaberlin and Belinda Littlejohn; and a special nephew, Wayne Clark.
Funeral will be 11 a.m. Saturday at Zoar Baptist Church with the Rev. Jim Beals and Dr. Kevin Willis officiating. Interment will follow in Woodland Cemetery. Friends may call 6-8 p.m. Friday at Tracy Brammer Funeral Home and one hour prior to the service Saturday at the church.
