With the announcement of the return of country music hall of famer Bobby Bare to perform at the Ro-Na Theater; the local community being afforded an opportunity to not only see a music legend, but welcome a son of Lawrence County home.

These types of events are important for all involved because this allows residents to attend, but this can also get communities motivated to be involved in fostering an environment that gets the county progressing forward.

This is also an important weekend overall, as not only will the return help move the renovations ahead at the Ro-Na.

Lawrence County definitely has its share of those who are deserving of being honored, and working together to present tributes to those who either helped pave the way for the county or have moved on and become successful.

Building the foundation now can help in honoring, but instilling the future generations to value those who helped shape the county.

Unfortunately, we as a county have not always been as proactive in developing and laying that foundation.

However, starting the trend has to begin somewhere, and ensuring we are honoring our past is a move in the right direction.
