Ronald Murnahan

Ronald Lee Murnahan, 77, of Ironton, passed away Thursday, April 17, 2014, at a local health care center. The Ironton native was born Jan. 22, 1937, a son of the late Emerson Murnahan and Ruby Lewis Murnahan Jordan. He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Hazel Jewell Gillespie Murnahan, whom he married Dec. 12, 1959.

Mr. Murnahan attended Coal Grove High School, was a former painter for the City of Ironton and was of the Baptist faith. He was an avid fan of the Cincinnati Reds and Ironton Tigers and loved country music.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Sarah Pauley and Mary Holschuh; and his stepfather, Willis Jordan.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by two stepdaughters, Linda Greene and Brenda Cade, both of Ironton; a brother, Gary Murnahan, of Portsmouth; two sisters, Margaret Shotsky, of Ironton, and Diane Thomas, of England; two grandchildren, Tina Greene and Travis Cade; and two great-grandchildren, Aidan Brown and Ian Vaughn.

Funeral services will be 2:30 p.m. Monday at Phillips Funeral Home with pastor Lenny Campbell officiating. Burial will follow in Buckhorn Cemetery and visitation will be 12:30 p.m. until time of service on Monday at the funeral home. Rosalie Coronado

Rosalie Coronado, 64, of Ironton, passed away Wednesday, April 16, 2014, at the Community Hospice Care Center in Ashland, Ky., with her husband and family at her side.

She was born Aug. 24, 1949, a daughter of the late Agnes Gollihue and the late Robert Adkins. She was a former business owner of her own restaurant named Rosie’s in North Carolina and a former nurses assistant at Bryants Nursing Home.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Danny and Steve Adkins; and her son-in-law, William (Bill) Waddell.

She is survived by her husband at home, Emilo Dominguez; a son, Otto Douglas (Jennifer) Graham; two daughters, Angela Dawn (George Hall) Graham and Christina (Billy) Martin; six sisters, Paula Blankenship, Sandy Gollihue, Rita Russell, Lori Adkins, Janet Nives and Nancy Hackworth; eight grandchildren, Candice Waddell, Rebecca Waddell Miller, William Lee (Bill) Waddell III, Justin Douglas Waddell, Chasity Rose Martin, Arinna Sky Estes, Amber Nicole Davis and Jessica Dawn Thibodaux; and a host of family and friends.

Funeral services were 1 p.m. Saturday at Brown Funeral Chapel with pastors Jeff Cremeans and Mark Adkins officiating. Burial followed in the Hanging Rock Cemetery.

Dorothy Evans

Dorothy Mae Evans, 81, of South Point, died April 17, 2014, at the Emogene Dolin Jones Hospice House in Huntington, W.Va. Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Tuesday at Slack and Wallace Funeral Home in South Point with pastor Steve Harris officiating. Burial will follow in Highland Memorial Gardens in South Point.

 

 

Starlet Thompson

Starlet Gean Caudill Thompson, 75, of Huntington, W.Va., died Friday, April 18, 2014. Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Tuesday at Hall Funeral Home in Proctorville by pastor Douglas Pendleton.
