Fun Days cake and pie auction a success

The Coal Grove Betterment Club would like to express its thanks and appreciation to all those who assisted in making our annual Cake and Pie Auction a very successful event for our club during Family Fun Days.

First of all, it would have been impossible without the wonderful auctioneering skills of Bob Sells. We had excellent bakers who gave of their time and effort to make those delicious goodies for us to auction off.

Those cooks were: Diane Miller, Kay Shannon, Judy Blankenship, Vicki McDaniel, Garnet Worthington, Carol Adkins, Terry Castle, Hazel Vanover, Carolyn Hall, Carla Salyers, Carol Gool, Doris Collins, Ryan Ritchie, Barbara Woodburn, Phyllis Akers, Barbara Melvin, Spice of Life and Big Ben’s Express.

All of our work would have been in vain if not for the generosity of the following individuals and businesses who purchased (and hopefully enjoyed) our baked items.

They were Les Boggs, Commissioner, DeAnna Holliday, Jeff Lawless, Sheriff, Coal Grove Freezette, Stephen Burcham, treasurer, Doug Malone, Coal Grove Foodfair, Bill Pratt, Commissioner, Tim Edwards, commissioner candidate, Mike Patterson, Clerk of Courts, Ronnie Neal, Freddie Hayes Jr., Commissioner, Cooks Farm Center and Holliday’s Quik Stop.

Thanks again for supporting our club and village in this endeavor. All proceeds will go to various activities the club has during the year, including decorating Paul Porter Park at Christmas, Breakfast with Santa, the flower pots located throughout Coal Grove and Family Fun Days.
