In tennis terms, it’s been a 30-15 start to the Ironton Lady Fighting Tigers’ tennis season.

Ironton opened with a win over Lucasville Valley on Thursday, Aug. 14, as Aleigha Justice and Arial Whitt won singles matches while Breanna Klabier and Kara Spencer won in doubles play.

The Lady Tigers down Portsmouth Notre Dame on Monday as Justice and Whitt won in singles play and the doubles teams of Kylie Barcus/Brooke Elswick and Spencer/Klaiber claimed victories.

On Wednesday, Ironton lost its first match this season to Wheelersburg.

Whitt stayed unbeaten with a three-set win over Meghan Myers.

The Lady Fighting Tigers host Portsmouth at 4:30 p.m. Thursday.
