Patricia Butler

Patricia June Butler, 60, of Ironton, passed away Wednesday, Sept. 10, 2014, at King’s Daughters Medical Center in Ashland, Ky. The Ironton native was born Nov. 18, 1953, a daughter of the late Frank Eaches and Christine Pancake. She is survived by her husband of 42 years, Walter Butler, whom she married Feb. 26, 1972.

Mrs. Butler was a 1973 graduate of Ironton High School and a former respiratory therapist with the V.A. Medical Center in Huntington, W.Va. She was also a member of the City Mission Church in Ironton.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by a son, Andrew Butler, of Ironton; a daughter, Tiffany Butler Colyer, of Ironton; three brothers, Michael Eaches, of Poquoson, Va., Tom Eaches, of Iowa, and Chris Pancake, of Minford; a sister, Lori Pancake, of Ironton; and four grandchildren, Tessa Colyer, Brennan Colyer, David Colyer and Tristan Butler, all of Ironton.

Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Saturday at Phillips Funeral Home with the Rev. Leon Dalton officiating. Burial will follow in Sugar Creek Cemetery and visitation will be 6-9 p.m. today at the funeral home. To offer condolences to the family, please visit www.phillipsfuneralhome.net.

 

 

 

Wayne Clinton

Wayne T. Clinton, 76, of Ironton, passed away Thursday, Sept. 11, 2014, at the Community Hospice Care Center in Ashland, Ky. The Lynn, Mass., native was born July 29, 1938, a son of the late Walter E. and Olive Shaw Clinton.

Wayne graduated from English High School in Lynn, Mass., and earned an associate degree in business administration. He was a U.S. Army veteran and worked for the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers as a lock and dam equipment mechanic leader for 20 years. He belonged to the Ironton BPOE No. 177 where he was a former Exalted Ruler, Ironton FOE No. 895 and the Ironton K of C No. 1405. Wayne was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church and most enjoyed singing with the men’s choir.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a daughter, Kathryn Whitt; three brothers, James Clinton, Walter Clinton and Leo Clinton; and two sisters, Muriel O’Brien and Sylvia Clinton.

He is survived by his wife, Luthella (Lu) Buckley Clinton; a son, Chris Clinton, of Huntington, W.Va.; a daughter, LuAnne Burgbacher, of Franklin Furnace; a sister, Arlene Hanlon, of Revere, Ma.; granddaughter, Kristina Clinton, of Winter Garden, Fla.; granddaughter, December Potter, of Coal Grove; grandson, Shawn Burgbacher, of Pahrump, Nev,; grandson, Brandon Whitt, of Ironton; three great-grandsons, Jaycob Daily, Aidryan Spitler and Bryce Burgbacher; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Saturday at Tracy Brammer-Monroe Funeral Home with Father David Huffman officiating. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery. Friends may call Saturday from noon until the time of the service at the funeral home. Donations may be made in Wayne’s honor to the charity of your choice. Pallbearers for the service will be Chris Clinton, Brandon Whitt, Tom Smith, Ron Spillman, Talor Sanders and Corey Belville. Connie Lake

Connie J. Lake, 62, of Ironton, died Wednesday, Sept. 10, 2014, at the Community Hospice Care Center in Ashland, Ky. She is survived by her husband, Hobert Lake. Funeral services will be noon Monday at Slack and Wallace Funeral Home in South Point with pastors Dave Shugg and Eric Barnes officiating. Burial will follow in Ice Creek Cemetery. Betty Lovejoy

Betty Lee Lovejoy, 79, of Huntington, W.Va., died Tuesday, Sept. 9, 2014, at Cabell Huntington Hospital. Funeral will be 2 p.m. Saturday at Hall Funeral Home.
