WHEELERSBURG — Jonathan Craig Jackson, 20, of Wheelersburg, formerly of Ironton, passed away Saturday, Feb. 21, 2009, at a residence in Wheelersburg.
The Ironton native was born May 4, 1988, the son of Matthew Craig Leibee of Ashland, Ky., and Bobbi Jo Jackson Potter of Willow Wood.
Jonathan was a 2007 graduate of Ironton High School. He attended Ohio University Southern, studying criminal justice. He was a former CNT at Jo Lin Health Center and was an employee at Big Sandy Distribution Center in Franklin Furnace. He was a former Boy Scout and loved to workout and lift weights. Jonathan was a member of First Baptist Church of Russell, Ky., where he sang in the choir, volunteered with the church youth group and participated in Operation Christmas.
He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Silas and Virginia Jackson.
In addition to his mother and father, he is survived by his stepfather, Roy Potter of Willow Wood; two brothers, Caleb Potter of Ashland and Jared Potter of Coal Grove;
a sister, Blair Potter of Ashland; his paternal grandmother, Cathy Church of Ashland; his
paternal grandfather, Fred Liebee of Ashland; three aunts and three uncles, Billie Jo Russell of Ironton, Vickie L. Jenkins of Lexington, Ky., William and Beverly Jackson of Flatwoods, Ky., Jimmy Russell of Ironton, and Jeremy Liebee of Ashland and his cousins, James B. Russell, Ashley E. Russell and Wayne Jenkins.
Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Thursday at First Baptist Church of Russell with Pastor Ken Gowin officiating. Burial will follow in Woodland Cemetery.
