Olada Petri

Nov. 13, 1918 — Oct. 2, 2014

 

Olada “Skip” Petri, 95, of Irwin, Pennsylvania, passed away Thursday, Oct. 2, 2014, in Excela Health Westmoreland Hospital in Greensburg, Pennsylvania. She was born Nov. 13, 1918, near Andis, in Lawrence County, a daughter of the late Carl and Esther (Kirsner) Blackwell. Skip was an avid golfer and was golfing up to the age of 90. She enjoyed and loved spending time with her family and friends; she took pride in never meeting a stranger.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Victor Petri, in 2000; and an infant son, Victor Carlton Petri. Skip is survived by her two daughters, Vicki (Dave) Lavella, of Jupiter, Florida, and Bonnie Petri, of Irwin, with whom she resided; three special grandchildren, Jim (Marcia) Lavella, Dana Richards and Mike (Sarah) Lavella; six special great-grandchildren; three sisters, Velma Reeser, of Missouri, Dale Graffuis, of Virginia, and Ranae Bricker, of Michigan; numerous nieces and nephews; and great-nieces and great-nephews.

She will be dearly missed by her family, friends and neighbors. Friends will be received from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Monday at the Joseph W. Nickles Funeral Home Inc., 404 Sewickley Ave., Herminie, PA 15637, 724-446-7251. A funeral service will be 11 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home with pastor Victor Koshir of Grace Baptist Church in Greensburg officiating. Interment will follow in Twin Valley Memorial Park in Delmont.

 

 

Mary Stapleton

Mary Louise Vaughn Stapleton, 87, of Chesapeake, died Sunday, Oct. 5, 2014, at her residence. Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Thursday at Schneider-Griffin Funeral Home with the Rev. David A. Dodge officiating. Burial will follow in Union Hill Cemetery.

 

 

Rebecca Thompson

Rebecca Joan Thompson, 55, of Huntington, died Sunday, Oct. 5, 2014, at St. Mary’s Medical Center in Huntington. She was preceded in death by her husband, William Thompson. Funeral service will be 11 a.m. Wednesday at Hall Funeral Home and Crematory in Proctorville. Burial will follow in Susie Chapel in Huntington. Visitation will be 10-11 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Arrangements are being handled by Hall Funeral Home and Crematory in Proctorville.

 

 

Michelle Ann Hudson

Michelle Ann Hudson, 21, of Russell, died Saturday, Oct. 4, 2014, at her residence. She is survived by her father, Carl K. Hudson. There will be a graveside service at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Golden Oaks Memorial Gardens in Ashland under the direction of Carman Funeral Home in Flatwoods.
