PEDRO — Injuries and turnovers have plagued the Rock Hill Redmen this season. It didn’t change on Friday.

The Redmen fought through a couple more injuries but turnovers proved the difference as Minford took a 27-6 non-conference win.

Drew McClaskey led the Rock Hill offense with eight carries for 112 yards. His 54-yard scoring run in the first quarter staked the Redmen to a 6-0 lead.

Minford rallied to take a 14-6 halftime lead and the score remained that way until the fourth quarter when the Falcons took advantage of a couple of turnovers to open up some breathing room.

“Every time we got a drive going we shot ourselves in the foot,” said Redmen coach Todd Knipp. “We turned it over too much. We just couldn’t finish a drive.”

The Redmen (2-5) ran the ball 33 times for 155 yards. Brady Knipp added 34 yards on 11 carries and quarterback Gabe Marzicola was 4 of 7 passing for 16 yards and an interception.

Austin Collins had two catches for 18 yards.
