Lady Panthers volleyball splits games

CHESAPEAKE — The final games produced split results.

The Chesapeake Lady Panthers fell to the Portsmouth Lady Trojans on Sept. 29 in an Ohio Valley Conference volleyball game but closed the regular season with a senior night win over the Green Lady Bobcats.

Portsmouth won 25-23, 25-20, 12-25 and 25-14. Carley Lester had 10 points to lead Chesapeake.

In the reserve match, the Lady Panthers fell 13-25, 7-25. Hope Jones had five points for Chesapeake.

On Wednesday, Melanie Noble had nine points as Chesapeake beat Green 25-18, 25-11, 25-21.

Maddy Rose scored 10 points in the reserve game as the Lady Panthers won 25-15, 25-10.

Chesapeake plays at Portsmouth in the sectional tournament at 4 p.m. on Saturday.
