CHESAPEAKE — So far the non-stop rains this past Saturday have left only one landslide for county road crews to fix.

That one is about a 75-foot long slide on County Road 2 or Greasy Ridge.

“We are going to fix that ourselves,” County Engineer Doug Cade said. “Our crews are mobilizing (Thursday) to start repairs on it Friday.”

The repair work is expected to cost between $50,000 and $70,000 and should be fixed before Christmas

“We won’t close the road,” Cade said. “But there will be some inconvenience during the day.”
