Lady Panthers’ offense keys win

CHESAPEAKE — The Chesapeake Lady Panthers have their offense rolling.

After scoring 64 in a loss to Alexander on Saturday, the Lady Panthers cruised to a 66-39 Ohio Valley Conference win on Monday over the Rock Hill Redwomen.

Kaylee Curry had 20 points, 8 rebounds and 5 steals to lead Chesapeake (7-7, 3-5). Sydnee Hall added 13 points and 6 rebounds, Atiya Spaulding had 8 rebounds and 4 assists while Natalie Hall handed out 3 assists.

Jill Hairston scored 11 points including three 3-pointers to pace Rock Hill (5-7, 2-5). Kaci Russell added 9 points.

Chesapeake jumped out to a 17-5 lead in the first quarter as Curry scored 6 points.

Sydnee Hall and Baylee Mills scored 5 points each in the second quarter as the Lady Panthers doubled up the score to lead 34-10 at the break.

Curry poured in 10 points in the third quarter as Chesapeake extended its lead to 58-24.

Hairston had 5 points in the fourth quarter as Rock Hill outscored Chesapeake 15-8.

In OVC games on Thursday, Chesapeake visits Portsmouth in a 7 p.m. varsity-only game and Rock Hill hosts Ironton.
