Gregory Henry

Gregory Allen Henry, 53 of South Point, died March 10, 2015, at King’s Daughters Medical Center. Graveside services will be 3:30 p.m. Sunday at Pine Grove Cemetery, Hanging Rock, with pastor Glenn Jenkins officating.

Gregory was born May 1, 1961, in Hanging Rock, a son of Mary and Pete Clark. He was preceded in death by one daughter, Amanda Huskey. Greg was a lifetime member of the “Good ‘Ol “Boys.”

In addition to his parents, he is survived by his children, Beth Ann Henry, Miranda Huskey, Brandy Henry and Tiarah Henry; one sister, Diane Francis; three brothers, Rick Schwab, Danny (Gladys) Henry and Bill (Robin) Bordelon; two grandchildren, Emma Huskey-McKnight and Edward Huff III; his significant other, Janie Robertson and her son, James Robertson; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Visitation is from 1-3 p.m. Sunday at Slack and Wallace Funeral Home, South Point. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the funeral home. Condolences to the family may be expressed at www.slackandwallace.com.

 

 

Moreen Jessee

Moreen Mary Brewer-Jessee, 88, of Flatwoods, Kentucky, formerly of Winter Haven, Florida, died Tuesday, March 10, 2015, from heart failure at Our Lady of Bellefonte Hospital in Russell, Kentucky.

She was born in Sale, Australia, on July 1, 1926, to the late Ernest and Ellen Duffy-Brewer. Moreen was a homemaker and thoroughly enjoyed knitting and sewing. She was a devout Catholic having attended Holy Family Catholic Church in Ashland and St. Joseph Catholic Church in Winter Haven.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, John Jessee, Jr. in 2009.

She leaves behind a loving family including her daughter, Suzanne Lewis of Flatwoods; four grandchildren, Shawna Carver of Flatwoods, Ryan Duffy of Lexington, Kentucky, Derek Duffy of Flatwoods and William Ashley Lewis of Louisville, Kentucky; eight great grandchildren; one great great grandchild; one sister; and many friends, all of whom will miss her.

Moreen’s family would like to personally thank Dr. Derek Jones and the entire staff at Oakmont Manor for the care and love that was shown to her during her stay there.

Funeral service will be held at Carman Funeral Home in Flatwoods at 4 p.m. Saturday, with Father John Noe officiating. There will also be a graveside service at 1 p.m. at the Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell, Florida, under the direction of Oak Ridge Funeral Care of Winter Haven, Florida. Visitation for family and friends will be held at Carman Funeral Home, 2301 Argillite Road, Flatwoods, from 2-4 p.m. Saturday.

 

 

Lige Kilgore

Lige Howard Kilgore, 82, of Flatwoods, Kentucky, died on Wednesday, March 11, 2015, at Community Hospice Care Center in Ashland. The funeral will be at 1 p.m. on Saturday at Bailey Family Funeral Home in Flatwoods with Bishop Hyden Curnutt officiating. Burial will follow at Golden Oaks Memorial Gardens in Ashland. Isom Willis

Isom C. “Bus” Willis, 84, of South Point, died Monday, March 9, 2015, at The Wyngate At River’s Edge, Proctorville. Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Saturday at Slack and Wallace Funeral Home, South Point. Burial will be at Zoar Cemetery, Coal Grove. Visitation is one hour prior to the service.

 

 

Juanita Brown

Juanita D. Collins-Brown, 93, of Raceland, Kentucky, died on Tuesday, March 10, 2015, at the Community Hospice Care Center in Ashland. Funeral services will be at the Grace United Methodist Church, 195 Caroline Road, Raceland, Kentucky, at noon Saturday with pastor Phillip N. Nunley and Dr. Tom Melvin. Visitation is from 6-9 p.m. today and an hour prior to service on Saturday.

 

 

Amy Smith

Amy Smith, 63, of Chesapeake, died Tuesday, March 20, 2015, at Cabell Huntington Hospital, Huntington, West Virginia. Funeral service will be conducted 11 a.m. Saturday at Hall Funeral Home and Crematory, Proctorville by pastor Robert Carter. Burial will follow in Miller Memorial Gardens, Miller. Anna Click, 76, of South Point, died Wednesday, March 12, 2015, at her home. Arrangements are pending at Tracy Brammer-Monroe Funeral Home.
