At some point, most will see a variety of projects being completed on state maintained roadways or other state property.

But, if you ever wondered how the Ohio Department of Transportation (ODOT) determines what jobs are completed and how they are funded, residents will have that opportunity.

Today, representatives from ODOT’s District 9 will conduct an open house at Ohio University Southern Campus in the Rotunda from 10 a.m-1 p.m.

This is beneficial for residents to have an opportunity to educate themselves and speak with those responsible for making the plans for various repairs and replacements throughout Lawrence County.

While residents can see information on tasks planned on the Statewide Transportation Improvement Program (STIP), it is important that these efforts provide relevant information to residents.

This is because most projects are planned and designed on a four-year scale.

We are encouraged to see these types of events to inform the public and allow residents to be educated on the projects that are completed using public funding.

Regardless of the size of the project being completed, being able to see them on paper and ask questions can be helpful for both ODOT and residents.
