Valerie Jenkins

Valerie Lynn Jenkins, 55, of Kitts Hill, passed away Tuesday, June 30, 2015, in Kitts Hill. The San Jose, California, native was born Aug. 3, 1959, a daughter to Elizabeth “Liz” Alhino Nelson, of Campbell, California, and Roderick Emmerson of Campbell, Calilfornia. She is survived by her husband Homer J. Jenkins, whom she married on Memorial Day, May 30, 1994.

Valerie was a graduate of Wilcox High School in Santa Clara, California. She was a former waitress at Fiesta Bravo in Ashland, and a former manager of Ironton Pizza Hut.

In addition to her parents and husband she is survived by two sons, Jeremy Nelson and Ernie Garcia of California; two daughters, Jessica McKenzie of Ironton and Shasta Jenkins of Florida; sister, Vonette Nelson of San Jose, California; eight grandchildren; two nieces; one nephew and three great nieces and nephews

Memorial services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Jenkins family residence. Phillips Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements. Billie “Cookie” Stone, 72, of South Shore, Kentucky, died Monday, June 29, 2015, in Grant Medical Center in Columbus. Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Friday at the Roberson Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Jim Brandenburg officiating. Burial will be in Crystal Dawn Cemetery in Quincy, Kentucky.
