CHESAPEAKE — The Chesapeake Village Council will host a special meeting later this week to discuss filling the council seat being vacated by new Mayor Tommy Templeton.

Templeton’s seat became open when he started as mayor on Jan. 1.

Council member Paul Hart said, according to the rules, the council can not name someone to fill the seat for at least five days.

The council’s regular meeting was Monday night, just short of the time frame, so Hart said a special meeting will later this week. He said that there are at least three or four individuals interested in the position.
