Booker scores 30 to lead Female Flyers

ASHLAND, Ky. — Book her, Dano. Or in this case, Booker whamo!

Senior Lynsey Booker scored a career-high 30 points as the St. Joseph Female Flyers toppled the Rose Hill Lady Royals 59-40 on Friday.

Booker was 13-of-19 from the field and 4-of-6 at the foul line en route to her point total. She also had 3 assists and 2 blocked shots.

Morgan Turner added 8 points, 5 assists and 5 steals for the Female Flyers (5-8) while Ashlee Blankenship grabbed 5 rebounds and Ashley Bartram pulled down 4 rebounds.

Kendra Steele scored 20 points to lead Rose Hill (5-8).

Booker scored 11 points in the first quarter as St. Joseph took a 15-13 lead. Steele had 8 points to keep the Lady Royals close.

Morgan Turner scored 5 points in the second quarter as the Female Flyers stretched the lead to 28-21 at the break.

Booker had 9 more points in the third quarter as St. Joseph was able to stretch the lead to 46-31.

Booker scored 6 points and Cassie Leith came off the bench to score 4 points in the fourth quarter as St. Joseph put the game away.

St. Joseph visits South Gallia on Monday.
