Emergency repair project set for State Route 217

CHILLICOTHE — An emergency repair project will take place next week on state Route 217 in Lawrence County, requiring closure of the route.

Crews from the Ohio Department of Transportation’s Lawrence County Highway Maintenance Facility will close State Route 217 at the 10.1-mile marker, between Township Road 228 (Capper Ridge Road) and State Route 775, to repair a slip that has occurred in the roadway.

The closure will go into effect at 8 a.m. today and continue until approximately 4 p.m. Wednesday or until all work is completed. While the route is closed, motorists will be detoured by way of State Route 378, State Route 141 and State Route 775.
