GALLIPOLIS — One thing the Rock Hill Redwomen haven’t lacked this season is offense.

Their seniors have seen to it.

The Rock Hill seniors had big games as the Redwomen beat the Gallipolis Blue Angels 10-3 on Thursday in an Ohio Valley Conference game.

“Our seniors are doing a great job right now of carrying us at the plate,” said Rock Hill coach Sam Gue. “Tonight, Riann (Keating) had four big hits and Lily (McGinnis) continues to gain confidence offensively.”

Leading the offense was Riann Keating who went 4-4 with three runs batted in. Makenzi Harrah and Lily McGinnis each went 3-4 with an RBI, and Jenna Lane was 2-4 with two RBI.

Jill Hairston pitched a six-hitter for the win. She struck out seven and walked one.

“Jill and Riann had another solid game working together. We realize our strengths as a defense. Fortunately, our offense has been pretty solid to this point as well,” said Gue.

After a scoreless first inning, Rock Hill got two runs in the second inning. Harrah, Keating and McGinnis all singled for a run and Anna Darby hit a sacrifice fly.

The lead went to 5-0 in the third.

Kaci Russell singled, Lane walked and Harrah reached on an error as a run scored. Keating capped the rally with a two-run single.

Rock Hill opened up a 10-0 lead in the fourth and Lane had a two-run singled while Hairston, Harrah and Keating followed with RBI singles.

Gallipolis spoiled the shutout with three runs in the fifth.

Allie Jo Clagg was safe on an error, Paxton Roberts singled and MaKenzie Barr was safe on an error for a run. Hunter Copley completed the scoring with a two-run double.

On Monday, Rock Hill hosts Coal Grove and Gallipolis entertains Ironton.
