SOUTH POINT — An elderly man lost control of his vehicle and crashed into the new Family Dollar in South Point on Tuesday.

Police Chief Chris Mahjer said the man could not find the brake and hit the accelerator by mistake, careening into the store at about 1:30 p.m.

Mahjer said EMS was called and the man was examined, but had no injures.

“Thankfully, no one got hurt,” he said.
