Special Needs Youth Sportsmen Inc. will conduct its annual deer hunting event and banquet for interested special needs youth on Friday and Saturday at Collins Career and Technical Center in Getaway.

Friday afternoon activities begin at 3 p.m. at the school. After meeting with Special Needs Youth Sportsmen volunteers, all will caravan to the school’s nearby shooting range. At the range, the activities will include shooting range practice and deer hunting safety education. Pizza will be served at the range or immediately following range activities when all will re-convene at the school.

Actual hunting will take place all day Saturday during the Ohio youth deer hunting special session, which is open to youth ages 17 and younger. Youth who have recently turned 18 may hunt only if their hunting licenses were obtained prior to turning 18.
