ASHLAND, Ky. — Contemporary Christian worship band Pocket Full of Rocks will be in concert at 6 p.m. Dec.5 at the Second Free Will Baptist Church, 2121 29th St., Ashland.

Pocket Full of Rocks gained national attention in 2010 with two top-20 hits: “Alive” and “Come as You Are.”

The Dove Award nominated group’s  third album, “More than Noise,” in stores now, encourages the church to experience true worship — something much deeper than just showing up for church on Sunday.

“A lot of what I’ve been sharing out on the road deals with losing your religion and finding relationship with an amazing God,” said Michael Farren, the band’s lead singer/songwriter.

“Much of our message is that you’ve got to make more than noise. It’s easy to just walk into a room, sing the songs on the screen and lift your hands; but if you can walk out and not be transformed or see the world around you transformed, then that wasn’t worship.

In addition to Farren, Alisa Farren provides vocals, Ryan Riggins plays electric guitar, Jody Crump on bass and David Rollins plays the drums.

“Real worship comes with change, both in you, and the world around you. If you encounter a real God in a real setting of worship, you can’t leave the same.”

The concert is free.
