SOUTH POINT — The offense may not have been in high gear, but it could still have gotten a speeding ticket.
Coming off a high-powered but exhausting 104-81 loss on Friday at Fairland, the South Point Pointers managed to keep the offense going with a 78-51 rout of the River Valley Raiders on Saturday.
“We got hot early and hit some shots. Once we got up we kind of relaxed. Now we just have to get rested up,” said Pointers’ coach Travis Wise.
Tayshaun Fox followed up a 35-point performance on Friday with a 26-point effort as he hit five 3-pointers and was 7-of-9 at the foul line.
Austin Webb scored 18 points and Douglas Shaffer drained three 3-pointers in the winning effort.
Jarret McCarley scored 17 points, Brandon Call 14 and Jordan Lambert 13 for River Valley (3-8).
Fox scored nine points and Webb got six more in the first quarter as the Pointers jumped ahead 21-4.
South Point (3-4) extended the lead to 40-18 at the half and built a 60-34 lead after three quarters.
On Tuesday, South Point hosts Gallipolis.
