LLOYD, Ky. — Oh that third quarter.
The St. Joseph Female Flyers managed only two points in the third quarter in a 44-26 loss to the Greenup County Lady Musketeers on Saturday.
Emma Whaley scored a game-high 14 points to lead the Female Flyers. Ashley Bartram scored eight points.
Greenup County was led by Lexie Carroll with 11 points and Maggie Miller had 10.
Hannah Hunt scored all five of her points in the first quarter and Miller got four more as Greenup took a 13-8 first quarter lead.
Whaley scored all of St. Joseph’s eight points in the quarter.
Gracie Haywood hit a 3-pointer and Greenup was up 20-14 at the half. Alyson Johnson scored three point, Bartram added a basket and Faith Mahlmeister a foul shot for the Female Flyers’ scoring.
Carroll hit a pair of 3-pointers and scored nine points as Greenup outscored St. Joseph 11-2 in the third quarter for a 31-16 lead. Bartram had the only basket for the Female Flyers.
Five different players scored for the Lady Musketeers in the fourth quarter.
Whaley hit a trifecta and scored six points with Bartram getting four points.
The Female Flyers host Sciotoville East on Monday.
