Lake Weasenforth

July 18, 1928 — Feb. 25, 2018

Lake Alvin Weasenforth, 89, of Pedro, passed away Sunday, Feb. 25, 2018, at the Hospice Care Center in Ashland, Kentucky. The Scherr, West Virginia native was born July 18, 1928, a son of the late Bunker and Merle Brown Weasenforth.
Mr. Weasenforth was a United States Army veteran, serving in the armor, and was a retired self-employed truck driver. Lake was a member of VFW Post 8850 in Ironton, the American Legion, Masonic Lodge, Shriners and was of the Baptist faith.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three wives, Rose Weasenforth, Dorothy Weasenforth and Ovie Nunnery Weasenforth; son, Cliffy Weasonforth; and two brothers, Vernon “Tally” Weasenforth and Charles “Pete” Weasenforth.
He is survived by two sons, William “Billy” (June) Weasenforth, of Ashland, Kentucky, and Lorraine “Fritz” Weasenforth, of Moorefield, West Virginia; three daughters, Nancy Hemphill, of Ashland, Kentucky, Karen (Ray) Blevins, of Pedro, and Sharon Jean (Greg) Pennington, of Hanging Rock; three sisters, Jeannie Sites, of Petersburg, West Virginia, and Mary Ayres, of Ft. Ashby, West Virginia; 14 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Thursday at Phillips Funeral Home, Ironton, with the Rev. Willard Blankenship officiating, along with Masonic Rites conducted by South Point Masonic Lodge 497. Burial will follow in Lawrence Furnace Cemetery with military honors provided by Ironton VFW 8850. Joseph Wilson

Joseph Lee Wilson, 31, of Ironton, passed away Friday, Feb. 23, 2018, at Our Lady of Bellefonte Hospital in Russell, Kentucky. The Ironton native was born Dec. 4, 1986, and is survived by his mother and dad, Rosetta Ann Taylor Wilson and Mickey Ray Wilson; and his father and stepmother, Joey and Missy Kidd.
Joseph attended Rock Hill High School and was a former janitor for Jo-Lin Health Center and helped at Ironton Country Club.
He was preceded in death by an uncle, Billy Wilson; maternal grandparents, Ruth and Kenneth Taylor; paternal grandparents, Dorothy and Bill Wilson and Chester and Wanda Kidd.
In addition to his parents, he is survived by two brothers, Mickey Ray Wilson II and Joey Kidd II, both of Ironton; one sister, Madison Brooke (Luke) Kirkpatrick, of Kitts Hill; a nephew, Wyatt Cole Wilson; eight aunts, Kenna (David Lewis) Noble, Debra (Harlen) Wise, Connie (Frank) Kukielka, Nancy (Kenny) Drake, Clara Rutherford, Kim (Jesse Webb) Kidd, Regina Justice and Doris (Roy) Music.
Funeral services will be 2:30 p.m. Wednesday at Phillips Funeral Home, Ironton. Burial will follow in Macedonia Cemetery. Friends may call from 1:30 p.m. until the time of the service Wednesday at the funeral home.

America Caster

America Virginia Artis Caster, 97, of Flatwoods, Kentucky, died Saturday, Feb. 24, 2018, at Oakmont Manor, Flatwoods, Kentucky.
Funeral service will be 1 p.m. today at Bailey Family Funeral Home, Flatwoods, Kentucky, with the Rev. Lloyd L. Bailey officiating. Burial will follow at Plum Grove Cemetery, Greenup, Kentucky. Edna Lucille Jackson, 84, of Chicago, Illinois, formerly of Ironton, died Friday, Feb. 23, 2018, at Smith Village, Chicago, Illinois.
A celebration of life service has been planned for Thursday at Calahan Funeral Home, Chicago, Illinois. Visitation will be at 10 a.m. and the memorial service at 11 a.m. Interment will follow immediately at Oak Woods Cemetery, Chicago, Illinois.
